The House bill eliminates public review for logging, removes wildlife protections, and opens roadless areas to road-building and clearcuts.
NWF and its local affiliates urge congressional leaders to remove riders that would obstruct the public process to restore North Cascades grizzly bears.
We’re working with the National Wildlife Federation and elected leaders to support House Resolution 4647, which would provide funding our wildlife need.
The deal appears to not include the feared riders related to Alaska or roadless areas, but we await further details. The agreed upon provisions would be amended to the Omnibus Appropriations Bill that Congress has a Friday night deadline to pass.
