Today, Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke was at North Cascades National Park Complex headquarters making remarks on grizzly bear restoration. In response to these announcements, Conservation Northwest issued the following statement.
For those of us who have worked for decades to restore grizzly bears to the North Cascades, the dream is alive, well and still worth fighting for — and we intend to do just that.
In light of this new delay at the behest of the Trump Administration, recovery work in the British Columbia portion of the North Cascades, including provincial recovery planning and Conservation Northwest’s Coast to Cascades Grizzly Bear Initiative, will be increasingly important in the years ahead.
