Upcoming Event: “Owls in North America: Spirits of the Land”

Come view exclusive images by award-winning photographer and Conservation Northwest Major Gifts Director, Paul Bannick.

Immerse yourself in the world of owls on Friday, November 2nd at the Bainbridge Public Library from 5:00-7:00 p.m. This free event is part of the First Friday Art Walk, and is also the opening night for the exhibit, “Owls in North America: Spirits of the Land”.

While photographs will be on exhibit throughout November, several photos will only be shown on this night. Plus, Paul will be there to give an interactive tour through selected images, some never-before-seen in the U.S., telling the stories and inspiration behind each one.

Paul will also be joined by fellow Conservation Northwest staffer Leigh Ann Gilmer to share information on our Okanogan Wildlife Crossing Campaign.

This is a free event, with refreshments provided by Conservation Northwest. Paul’s books and calendars will be available for purchase!

 

Paul Bannick: wildlife photographer, author and conservationist

Paul is our Major Gifts Director, and is well-known for his incredible wildlife photography. He is the author of two best-selling bird books, Owl: A Year in the Lives of North American Owls, which was awarded the Gold Medal in the 2017 Independent Publisher Book Awards “Animals/Pets” category, and The Owl and The Woodpecker, Encounters with North America’s Most Iconic Birds, which was featured in two traveling exhibits by Washington’s state museum, The Burke.

Paul’s work is prominent in books from Audubon, Peterson and The Smithsonian, and has been featured in many publications, including The New York Times, Audubon, Sunset and Nature’s Best Photography Magazine. Listen to this recent podcast with Paul about his work and this upcoming event here.
