Bellingham Happy Hour & Oyster Dome Hike – 6/14

Conservation Northwest / May 29, 2019 / Events

Join us for a homecoming happy hour at Boundary Bay Brewery and a hike on Blanchard Mountain in Bellingham on June 14!

The next stop on our state-wide list of events to celebrate our 30th Anniversary will be Bellingham, Washington, where we were founded in 1989.  Please have a beverage with us as we reminisce on our Bellingham beginnings, celebrate our achievements since, and talk about our work for habitat and wildlife from Blanchard Mountain and Lake Whatcom Park to the North Cascades!

We’re inviting you to join us in Bellingham at Boundary Bay Brewery’s Mountain Room on Friday, June 14th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. And tag along on our guided hike to Oyster Dome on Blanchard Mountain if you can!

Think you know your stuff on local wildlife, wildlands and conservation? We’ll also be hosting a round of trivia with our friends at the North Cascades Institute, so come and show us what you’ve got! Light appetizers provided.

This happy hour is open to the public, but please RSVP on our Facebook event or via email to

outreach (at) conservationnw.org!

At Conservation Northwest, our M.O. is simple: connect the big landscapes, restore iconic wildlife, and protect our natural heritage for future generations. Since our founding in Bellingham 30 years ago (back when we were called the “Greater Ecosystem Alliance”), we’ve expanded our work to stretch from the Washington Coast to the British Columbia Rockies.

Although we continue to build new relationships in new landscapes, we haven’t forgotten our roots in Bellingham. We rallied local support for Lake Whatcom Park, which now offers countless recreation opportunities and maintains clean drinking water for the city. We’ve helped to reintroduce fishes to the North Cascades, and continue to support grizzly bear restoration in and around North Cascades National Park. Just last year, after more than a decade of advocacy, we secured the permanent protection of Blanchard Mountain and the forest and trails around Oyster Dome. This year, for our 30th Anniversary, we want to celebrate our work to date with our Bellingham community that helped us get started in the first place.

You’ll also get the chance to enter a raffle to win some awesome products from Gear Aid, a local outdoor company, Outdoor Research, a Seattle-based company, and a 30th Anniversary merch bundle from Conservation Northwest!
