How do you catch a grizzly bear?

How do you catch a grizzly bear?

Conservation Northwest / Feb 23, 2017 / Work Updates

Many Washingtonians have questions about how grizzly bear restoration would work in the North Cascades. Thankfully, scientists from the National Park Service and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service don’t need to start from scratch!

In northwest Montana, biologists have been successfully restoring grizzly bears for years, catching them near Glacier National Park where their numbers are healthy, and releasing them in the Cabinet Mountains to help boost the population there. And it’s all done with the safety and well-being of the bears and the community in mind.

This conservation success story is a powerful blueprint for how grizzly bear restoration can be done in Washington’s North Cascades. But now is the time to act before it’s too late! Find suggested comments and take action before March 14 at: www.northcascadesgrizzly.org/comment
