For more decades, infrastructure and development has made this landscape a bottleneck for wildlife moving between the North and South Cascades. Building on landmark successes like the I 90 wildlife crossings and major land protection efforts, we now work across adjacent public lands and watershed partnerships to reconnect forests, improve habitat quality, and support Tribal and community stewardship. Our goal is a connected, climate resilient landscape where wildlife can move freely along the Cascade Crest and people can enjoy healthy forests and watersheds.

Restoration & Connectivity
We work to restore Central Cascades watersheds that support wildlife movement across the I-90 corridor, focusing on degraded areas where strategic restoration can deliver the greatest ecological benefit.
Since 2017, we have advanced policies that prioritize ecological restoration and connectivity, ensuring that federal and state planning reflects the best available science. Our team supports U.S. Forest Service restoration efforts by helping design and implement projects that improve watershed function, reduce barriers to wildlife movement, and strengthen habitat quality. We also help secure and direct public and private funding toward restoration actions that would not otherwise move forward.

By collaborating with agency partners, local communities, and conservation scientists, we help shape restoration actions that improve forest health, restore hydrology, and reconnect habitat across the I-90 corridor. Snoquera Landscape Restoration Project
Large-Scale Watershed Restoration Investment
Since the early 2020s, the program has secured nearly $1 million for the Snoquera Landscape Restoration Project, advancing large-scale forest, riparian, and aquatic restoration across 191,000 acres in partnership with the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe and Trout Unlimited.
Upper Green River Watershed Collaboration
Protecting Drinking Water and Wildlife Habitat
The program has strengthened multi-agency collaboration in the Upper Green River watershed, supporting conservation across a 231 square mile landscape that supplies drinking water to nearly one million residents and anchors critical habitat and wildlife connectivity.
